This page details exactly which guitars, drums, amplifiers and keyboards The Shruggs have used throughout their revolutionary career. This will be an ongoing project to provide a fascinating insight into Shrugg history and chronicle their gear from cheap vintage instruments to handbuilt oddities.
Tim's Airline guitar with cheat sheet taped on the back."This is the first guitar I ever bought. I took Dean Seavers with me to check it out and he gave it the thumbs up. cost $125. It wouldn't stay in tune so I had the tuners changed and it's been great since. I step- ped on the cord a few years back and busted the pickguard... I held it together with duct tape for years but just got it fixed. And I need that cheat sheet."
Stan's Klira bass next to Tim's Airline. "This is my first bass. I had borrowed it from a lady I worked with who had borrowed it for a Halloween costume. It was a German made bass which sounded great but the neck was not attached very well and would sometimes bend out place while I played it. It came to be known as the "Mach 3" because I was too cheap to buy the missing G string. This photo was taken shortly before I added the MK3 logo taken from Tim White's Triumph. I eventually sold this bass to Alex and he has it 'til this day. Notice Alex's name next to the bass. Wierd."
Vox Essex Bass Amp. "I purchased the from Curt Doughty of E-Types fame and used it as my first bass amp in The Trouble Makers. It was notorious for giving out midway through a show so I eventually sold it to Alex. He gutted the innards and turned it into a speaker cabinet. I bought it back from him years later and now use an Ampeg V2 (pictured) or a no-name amp head to power it."
Stan's Eko Pearloid Bass. "I picked this one up on Ebay with the original case. I lost the chrome bridge cover on the Trouble Makers first trip to Europe."
